Every Thurston Bros custom jacket order includes the use of a fit jacket and a professional fit consultation.  Fit consultation includes chest circumference evaluation as well as shoulder width and waist circumference recommendations.  Additionally, the fit jacket is used to determine custom body and sleeve lengths.  All fit recommendations are based on using the fit jacket as a measuring tool for the custom build.  Please keep in mind that three customers with the same body measurements will choose three different sizes in the same style (one chooses a tight fit, another prefers a regular fit and the third wants a roomier fit).  The fit jacket consultation makes it easy for each customer to get the fit and lengths they desire!

 

The Aero Maxwell is another fine addition to Aero's Depression-era catalog. The Maxwell is based on Aero's 1930s half belt pattern, which makes it a button-up jacket from the time when zippers were becoming the rage!  This style is made with either hand sewn Corozo buttons or leather futbol buttons, button cuffs and a classic half belt back with a single point yoke.

The half belt back design gained rapid popularity with the US public due to the flattering profile and the practicality of a side fastening which could be drawn in to retain warmth in all conditions. This jacket replicates the character of many utility jackets from the late 1920s rather than replicating any one particular model. The Maxwell has two handwarmer pockets below a double-welted chest pocket.
